Description
This is an Antique MM Porcelain Vase, Hand Painted with Moriage applications. Vase depicts a Peacock and Cherry Blossoms. This item is a good representation of pieces from the 1920's that were produced for Japanese export to the American market. The vase is colorful and would be a lovely display item. The "M.M." mark on the bottom could stand for Moriama Mori-Machi, but I could not find an instance of the simple "M.M." mark versus the typical mark used which has a laurel wreath design.
Dimensions
: 12.75" H, approx 7.5" W, 3" rim diameter, 3.5" base diameter
Condition
: This item has paint wear, and crazing, but overall it's in very good condition for a delicate porcelain piece of this age. The hand painting is imperfect, with several instances where the colors bleed into the next "section" of the vase. No fleabites, chips or cracks detected. Please see photos as part of the item description. Feel free to reach out with any questions.
